NORTHSIDE MONTESSORI SCHOOL CALENDAR 2009-10
The calendar may be changed if snow days or emergency school closings cause us to do so in order to meet our minimum number of required instructional days as stated by law. NMS will hold two school closing days in reserve to be scheduled at a later time for Montessori conferences or training schedules.
STUDENT’S STARTING DATES
- Returning students report - August 12, 2009 at 8:00 a.m. (before and after school care available)
- New students report - August 17, 2009 at 8:00 a.m. (before and after school care available)
SEMESTER SCHEDULES
- First Semester - August 12, 2009 through January 8, 2009
- Second Semester - January 11, 2010 through June 2, 2010
PROGRESS REPORTS
- January 20, 2010 and May 18, 2010
PARENT EVENTS
- August 15 - Parent Orientation/Open House - 10:00 a.m.
- September 12 - School picnic-12:30 to ???
- Parents may schedule class observation times with the teachers. (Observations will start after Winter Break)
- June 2, 2010 - LAST DAY OF SCHOOL - close at 3:00p.m. (No after school care)
- June 7, 2010 - First day of SUMMER CAMP
- Staff meetings are first Monday of each month - 3:30 p.m.
- MPAP (Montessori Parents as Partners) meetings to be announced
SCHOOL CLOSED
- September 7 - Labor Day
- October 22&23 - Fall break
- November 25 - School closes at 3:00 p.m.
- November 26&27 - Thanksgiving
- December 21 through January 1, 2010 - winter break
- January 18 - Dr. M. L. King Birthday
- January 28&29 - Parent/Teacher conferences
- February 15 - President’s Day
- March 25&26 - AMS Conference in Boston
- March 29 through April 2 - Spring Break
- May 21 - Staff training day
- May 31 - Memorial Day
- June3&4 - Parent/Teacher conferences
- WEATHER OR EMERGENCY. School closing due to whether or emergency siturations will be announced on major television and radio stations. (Listen carefully for "Northside Montessori") If you have any doubt, call first.
CORRECTIONS: Any correction in scheduling will be brought to your attention immediately.
