Dear Parents,

NMS will have a summer day camp from June 9th to August 1st. The registration fee for camp is $65.00 per child and is non-refundable for any reason.

The camp hours are 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with extended care from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. each morning and 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. for after camp care. Camp fees must be prepaid. June fees must be paid by June 5th and July fees paid by July 5th. Camp fees paid for time/days selected and not used will not be refunded or credited unless NMS cancels the session. Fees may be paid with check, cash, or money orders. NSF checks will be charged a $39.00 fee payable immediately. NSF or non-payment is cause for termination of your child' s attendance. If time is added to your child's already established schedule, fees for that time are payable immediately.

Extended care fees are charged at $3.00 per hour or any part of the hour used. If you do not pick your child up by the close of camp (5:30 p.m.), a charge of $25.00 per quarter hour or any part of the quarter used will be assessed to your account (payable immediately).

Teachers from NMS will supervise summer camp. The academic areas will be presented as well as special units pertaining to music, arts, crafts, sports, science, and a lot of other fun activities. Campers bring their lunches and a snack if they stay for after camp care. Please make sure the food is properly packed with lunch box ice packs (if needed), no glass bottles, easy open containers, enough food for your child to be comfortable (but not too much to make deciding difficult), and a thermos for warm foods. We do not have a refrigerator for food storage or a stove for food preparation. If your child stays for extended care, pack an extra snack and drink for them to have at snack time. We encourage children to bring a water bottle to use throughout the day, especially during outside play. Please put your child's name on their lunch box and all other items they bring to camp. Children MAY NOT bring Gogurt, squeezie bottles, Capri pouch drinks, blue or purple food, red dyed food products, pizza or taco Lunchables, or soda pop for lunch or snack. It is important to make sure they have a balanced meal with little sugar. We promote drinking a lot of water, not juice drinks.

We do not have a dress code at NMS. One rule that we do have is that all children must wear closed toed shoes to play outside. This protects their toes and feet from injury. They may change to sandals or slippers (may not be barefooted) when they are inside. Please do not let your child wear jewelry to camp. Jewelry is easily lost and will need to be removed to play outside. Campers should bring a change of clothes because we do a lot of water play, paintings, and various activities that may warrant a change. Put the clothes in a two gallon Ziploc baggie with the child's name on it. Make sure to put your child's name on clothing labels, backpacks, etc., for easy identification. Your child may keep the extra clothes in their backpack.

Our hopes are that the bookmobile will continue to come to NMS one day each week so we can participate in the summer reading program sponsored by the library. All children will be able to participate regardless of age. We will inform you of that day as soon as we are scheduled. If your child does not have a card, one can be obtained with your permission. Please let me know if your child needs an application for a card.

If your child is not feeling well or has had a fever, please do not bring them to camp. Make sure your child is fever free at least 24 hours and not medicated as a "temporary fix." This is unfair for your child, unfair to other children, and unfair to the staff. If your child does become sick at school, you will be called to pick them up. If your child needs to take medication during the day, please give all medicines to a staff member. DO NOT PUT ANY TYPE OF MEDICATION OR VITAMINS IN YOUR CHILD'S LUNCH BOX! A "permission slip to give medication" must be filled out and signed by you before your child can be given
medication at NMS.

If your child has special needs or anything that we need to pay particular attention to, please let us know. All the children must be able to verbalize their needs, all children must be potty trained, all children must have reasonable social skills, and all children must have an understanding of right and wrong to be a camper at NMS. If we feel a child has a particular problem that needs attention, we will discuss it with the parents immediately.

If a child is being picked up from camp by anyone other than the parents or the people you have on the pick-up list , you must let us know in advance. We will need to know the name of the person or persons and verify this with identification. If we do not have your permission to release your child to someone else, we will not allow the child to leave the property.

The SUMMER DAY CAMP forms are attached for you to complete and return with either the $35 or the $65.00 registration fee for each child enrolling. Please make sure the information you have given us is correct. If any changes are made in telephone numbers, addresses, work places, etc., please let us know immediately. In cases of emergency, correct information is vital. If we cannot reach you in time of emergency, we have an obiligation to do whatever is necessary for your child to receive proper treatment.

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE CONTACT ME BETWEEN 9:00 A.M. AND 3:00 P.M. DAILY AT 251-2979 OR LEAVE A MESSAGE IN MY VOICE MAIL AND I WILL RETURN YOUR CALL AS SOON AS I CAN.

Respectfully,
